The problem with Shentel mail users registering and obtaining passwords has been resolved. Shentel assures us that they have corrected the problem and that those affected will experience no delays or rejects. So, if you have not received your password, and did not ask us to manually register you, please try again. Should you experience any further problems, please let us know. We’re happy that the matter did come to a positive conclusion and are appreciative of your patience.

We are continuing to work toward a resolution to the problem some are experiencing in receiving passwords. We have determined that the problem occurs only with those who use Shentel as their e-mail provider, as apparently Shentel is blocking all e-mail from C4S to any of its (Shentel’s) e-mail clients. (Incoming e-mail to C4S from Shentel clients is not affected.) Shentel is working with us to hopefully correct the problem. We ask for your continued patience and encourage you to use the link in the previous message to register. We’ll keep you updated.

Some readers have informed us that they have either experienced long delays before receiving their passwords via e-mail after they register to use the site, or have not received their passwords at all.
We have verified that this problem is NOT one on our end of the process, but we ask that you patiently stick with us as we try to determine the exact cause.
If you registered to use the site, and have waited longer to receive your password than you believe could be excused by a normal slow-down of your e-mail provider, please e-mail us at this address, so we can register you manually:
register@citizens4strasburg.org
Please send us the username and password you wish to use on the site. Remember that user names and passwords are CASE-SENSITIVE, so please type them exactly as you want us to enter them into our system.
This mailbox will remain open until the problem with receipt of e-mailed passwords has been resolved, and will then be closed. We appreciate your patience as we work through this issue.

In order to quell any possible confusion that might be caused by the WordPress logo and such being present on our log-in page, we have updated our F. A. Q.
We thank Kim Bishop for bringing the need for this to our attention.

We have completed the redesign of the site by adding the Town charter and administrative contact information.
We’re especially pleased to be able to bring the charter to you in such a readable form, for as far as we know, C4S is the first to place the complete charter directly on a webpage. You could scour the web and download a PDF copy of it, but why should you need to do that as long as you’ve got us?

We’re proud to report that a link to our site has been added to the Strasburg page at Wikipedia. Wikipedia is arguably the most complete source of general information currently on the web, so we commend it to you, along with the other sites of area interest you’ll find in the “References” section of our sidebar.

For archival purposes, we’ve added the two newsletters we published in 2005, and two contributed articles, including Mark Weiler’s article “The Dan Ryan Builder” from October of that year to the site as past editorials. While most of this material is too dated to make for informative reading, we’re sure several of you can still benefit from Mr. Weiler’s experience, and we thank him again for his contribution.

Welcome to the new C4S, powered by our blog. Its layout and color scheme may be familiar, but this technology will enable us to update our site more quickly and frequently. We’re grateful for this new opportunity to communicate with you, and encourage you to participate as inclined.
Please bear with us just a few more days, as we update and add pages to report current news.
If you’re unfamiliar with us, please take a moment to read our “About Us” page, which will give you a good idea of who we are, and almost as importantly, of what we’re NOT.
We also encourage you to read our discussion rules, disclaimer, privacy policy, and F. A. Q.
